Product Details of Logitech V400 Laser Cordless Mouse for Notebooks

Description

With All-Terrain Laser performance, the Logitech V400 Laser Cordless Mouse for Notebooks delivers true mobility without boundaries. Two key technologies separate the V400 Laser Cordless Mouse for Notebooks from the rest of the pack. First, the V400 is the first mouse to use a dual laser tracking engine. Developed jointly by Logitech and Philips Laser Sensors, the dual laser engine is based on Philips Twin-Eye Laser technology, using two lasers to detect microscopic surface variations. The result is all-terrain performance merged with pixel-precise tracking.

Logitech V400 is obsolete

Strengths: Great sounding specs

Weakness: Model discontinued by Logitech. User reviews offer plenty of reasons why.

Bottom line is the V400 is no longer sold by Logitech (either in grey or orange). The product had a strange history. It appeared on Logitech website, with wonderful sounding specs, but was months delayed in arriving. Once available, early reviewers panned it for poor performance. Within a short time, Logitech was discounting this model on their website, and a few short months later it...

great promise, but disappointing results

Strengths: feels comfortable, appears durable

Weakness: doesn't track consistently, sometimes mouse clicks don't register

I had high hopes for this mouse because I want a mouse for my laptop that I can just throw into a bag. I've also had good experience with Logitech. Unfortunately, this mouse doesn't track consistently, on a variety of surfaces. It doesn't work well on a wooden desk, where my Logitech G7 laser mouse works perfectly. Putting a piece of paper under it doesn't solve the problem. Sometimes mouse...

Best Notebook mouse yet

Strengths: Fast, accurate, and simple to use

Weakness: none really...for a notebook mouse

I first saw this mouse advertised back in December 2005 and I've waited 5 months to get it. I read the other reviews and got a little concerned that this mouse might be a first for Logitech...pure crap. I even thought about buying the new microsoft laser mouse for notebooks. But that mouse had consistently bad reviews pertaining to its buttons sticking after a month of use. I new that I need a...

3 Strikes, this one is out...

Strengths: Good assembly and finish. Scroll wheel is excellent.

Weakness: Dual laser technology.

I had high expectations for this mouse. On paper it looks like an excellent choice- rugged body, 5 buttons, dual laser tracking and mini receiver. Unfortunately the dual-laser system simply does not work. At all. Strike One- The cursor jumps and hops around so much that you get fed up with using it after only a minute of use, especially on dark surfaces. I tried using it on a wood finished desk...

Terrible tracking & precision

Strengths: Looks Nice Feals OK

Weakness: Tracking is an absolute disaster and for High Resolution applications this mouse is useless.

I bought one three days ago and it really sucks the tracking is so bad. I have called several times to logitech tech support and tried various things they have suggested but nothing has helped. I can't return it because I don't have the original packaging anymore and Logitech don't want to help out here!! This mouse is a real waste of money and must be at this stage a beta version of their new...

Great Mouse

Strengths: All in one design... USB interface docks w/ the mouse... Very smooth

Weakness: Tilt wheel doesnt work for Mac

A great laptop mouse but Im some what disappointed that the Logitech Device Manager does allow the v400 to use the side tilt wheel buttons... it just seems like a waste... maybe it work for WinXP but it doesnt for Mac... atleast not yet. Other than that its a great mouse track very well, and have a good feel and weight to it.

Logitech V400 Black/Grey cordless laser mouse...

Strengths: Small, Sleek, has a storage spot for the micro receiver, ~33 ft. range (good for presentations), Battery Saving feature when inactive or not in use, Precise Tracking, Build Quality.

Weakness: None. Although it could have had Bluetooth interoperability and a Rechargeable Li-on Battery (makes it more convenient to charge on USB and/or plug).

I bought the Logitech V400 cordless laser mouse in blk/grey a little over a week ago and it has been performing excellent. It is small, precise, and easy to use, you don't even have to install the software that comes with it to use it: Plug and Play. It has 5 buttons that are programmable if you install the software, or they become universal scroll, back and forward buttons, the side scroll do...

Pretty Good Mouse

Strengths: Built in USB key storage, Very easy to use.

Weakness: Lack of carrying case.

I had read quite a few reviews about this mouse before purchasing it. There seemed to be slightly more negative reviews that good ones. But I just decided to take the plunge and try it for my self. And it has worked out great for me, the mouse works very well.

Great Notebook Mouse

Strengths: Solid durable, easy to use.

Weakness: Pointer sticks sometimes, no carrying case

Overall this mouse is great. except for the occasional sticking of the pointer. I would recommend this mouse for any PC. I am currently using it for my desktop PC because the transmitter is nice and small and out of sight.

Could have been greatest notebook mouse ever but...

Strengths: Back and Forward buttons, Side to Side scrolling, reciever acts as an on and off switch, sleep mode.

Weakness: Dual laser tracking isn't even as good as single laser tracking. Can't use SetPoint to have different buttons set up for different programs.

I was looking forward to the V400 ever since Logitech first announced it. By the time it finally go into stores, people were less than pleased with the results. When I first used the mouse it worked on every surface I threw at it but the mouse didn't track accurately like my G5 (also a laser mouse). Carpet and very dark surfaces were the only things where the dual lasers couldn't pick up...
