A Must-Have, Especially For Pet Owners!!!Strengths: Easy portability, good suction, hose attatchment easily accessable, easy to empty, washable filter, relatively quiet. Weakness: I have found none so far! This EZ Kleen 71A Handheld Vacuum is wonderful for quick pick-up of pet hair on furniture, bedspreads, chair cushions, etc. It's so much easier than using my other vacs for portability and convenience, yet I'll never have to recharge it or replace the battery like I had to with my other handheld vac. You can do the upright cushions just as easily as the bottom cushions with the adjustable cover on the brush for vertical surfaces with just a twist of the front cover. I've used those pet hair sponges which tend to crumble on the upholstery and are a pain to clean and I even have a new rubber pet hair brush that works partially by static electricity, but it's a pain to clean off, too, and all that brushing is really wearing on the fabric. This vacuum works much better, faster and with less elbow grease on my part. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

convenient handhold vacuumStrengths: small for handhold application, easy to clean Weakness: N/A I had this handhold vacuum working for more than 2 years. With extra pipe for narrow space applications, it's quite convenient for car and stairs carpent cleaning and it's bagless. The dust is easy to dump. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Perfect for what it's designed forStrengths: Compact with power and beater bar Weakness: Like all compacts - the filter gets quite dirty quickly If you need a vacuum to do stairs and don't want to get out your big upright and wrestle with it or its hose attachments, this is the unit for you. It is small and easy to work with while delivering good suction and has a beater bar that is good enough to actually clean carpeted stairways. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Eureka EZ Clean 71A handheld vacStrengths: Good suction. Rotating brush has good power, does not bog down. Weakness: Can't really indentify any weaknesses. The only handhelds I've used in the past were cordless and can't compare to this vacuum. The brush rotates when cleaning medium pile carpet without bogging down. The suction is not as strong as my upright, but is certainly stronger than any cordless and is enough to do a good job. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Almost PerfectStrengths: Powerful suction, compact storage, good value Weakness: Hose could be longer, no switch to flip suction between brush and hose This mini vac is almost perfect. I wanted a handheld vacuum for stairs and corners that had an electrical cord for power – no more of those wheezy cordless models with batteries that don’t hold a charge. This Eureka model is not too heavy. The cord is plenty long. It’s easy to clean out the dust cup, no bag to mess with. The attachment hose is kinda short but I like that it stores right on the vac and the crevice attachment tucks neatly into the back end. I only wish I could flip a switch to use either the brush or the hose – right now they both provide suction at the same time. Not a problem though. It fits the bill and for the price, a good value. I’d still buy it again and would recommend it to others. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great little vacuumStrengths: Nice and powerful Weakness: none so far The suction on this is fantastic. Although it looks a little odd, it does a great job.It is powerful enough to use on the steps. It's not heavy and a wonderfully little hand held vac. It has a nice beaterbar for quick cleanups. I took an attachemnt from an old hand held and use it to get close into the corners. It's one of the most powerful hand held vacs I have come across so far. Buy it, you won't be disappointed! Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Sucks like it's supposed to.
Strengths: Durable and strong body. Strong vacuum suction. Front cover rotates for vertical surfaces.
Weakness: A bit heavy for a hand vac. Rear vents on strong while using. Cord attachment is awkward.
This is the best designed hand vacuum I have ever used. It's not perfect, of course, but it's pretty dang close.
The thing is sturdy and solidly built. I didn't feel worried at all banging it around into corners and crevices.
Vacuum suction is very good. The clear collection bin lets you see just how much dirt and junk you're picking up. I was pretty surprised at how much stuff got collected in it after a very short time. I didn't think my place was that dirty and I don't have pets, but I guess this vac was able to pick up stuff that my older one couldn't. Works for me.
The weight of unit does take some getting used to. Also, when you're running it, a fairly strong exhaust air comes out of the back which is noticeable. The first few times I ran this on some small carpet areas, it took a while to get used to the weight so I could run it back and forth. It felt like the suction was too strong and that I couldn't easily run it across the carpet.
The vertical flip part flap on the front is great. No more holding the thing at awkward angle to try to get the vertical carpet on stairs. Basically, what it is is just flipping the round clear piece over the bristles down so that the vacuum comes from the front face instead of the front bottom. You then hold it straight ahead and guide it up and down.
The back handle is nicely designed to wrap the cord around it. The back also has a hollow space to store a piece of the hose attachment. Little things like this are very nice.
The biggest gripe I had was the design of the hose attachment. It seems kinda short but is stretchable so that's not that bad. What I really don't like is that the hose end detaches from the unit on the right side so that the hose is hanging off the unit on the left. I'm right handed so I would want to hold the unit in my left and the hose in my right hand. This is a bit awkward especially you have to deal with the stretching hose thing. It's not a deal-breaker, but just one of those things that prevent this from near perfect.
It would also be nice if there was a setting for just using the hose. When using the hose, air seems to be sucked through the regular part as well.
The dust bin collector thing is nicely designed. I like the see-through aspect a lot. Removal is easy and the filter blocks stuff from coming out until you have it in the trash.
Since I deal with mostly hardwood floors and not that much carpeting, my hand vacuum is actually more important than a regular size standing one. I absolutely need the portability and hoses to get into cracks and crevices and the like. I haven't used it on my car yet, but I'm sure it'll be good for that too.
I highly recommend this unit and would look at other Eureka hand vacs in the future when I put this one to rest.
